Walking through the doors of The Blend was a moment I never thought would happen. Before that day, I hadn’t stepped into a church in 30 years. I had long believed there wasn’t a place where I could fully be myself—as a lesbian woman and as a person of faith. But from the very first moment, I felt something I hadn’t felt in decades: safety, belonging, and acceptance.

The Blend is more than a church; it’s a home. It’s a space where love isn’t just preached—it’s lived out, where everyone is embraced exactly as they are. Being part of an all-affirming community has been life-changing for me.

One of the greatest blessings in my journey has been Pastor Courtney. Through her mentorship in public speaking and reading, I found not just my voice, but my confidence. Her encouragement and belief in me led me to a place I never imagined—becoming an Elder in this beautiful, affirming church.

The Blend has shown me that faith and authenticity are not separate, that I don’t have to choose between who I am and what I believe. After 30 years of staying away, I have found my spiritual home. And for that, I am endlessly grateful
